    3. Apparently I have either forgotten or missed something as I am not recalling any event or action that would require such an action. However, after my fall last week, I guess anything is possible. If someone would be so kind as to refresh my memory it would be appreciated. Les Sherri wrote: > Moved by W. 3. Actually David, for me, your motion is not all that clear in the way that it is written. I can see why there is some confusion as to what lists it is referring to. When I read it, it appears to say that anyone serving on the Grievance Committee, who also moderate a list have to be dismissed as a moderator of said list. You do specify any usgenweb lists, including usgenweb-discuss, but many people can and apparently are, interpreting that to mean any list that is connected in any way to the usgenweb, including the state lists run by SC's. Perhaps the motion needs to be slightly rewritten so it is clearer as to what lists are included and what lists are not. right now, it says all lists, which is way too open to misinterpretation. Perhaps it would better read as usgenweb lists controlled or maintained under the AB, such as usgenweb-discuss, uesgenweb-se, yadda, yadda, yadda. >>"I move all moderators of any usgenweb lists including usgenweb-discuss be dismissed from such positions if they are currently serving in the Grievance Committee as member or as mediator or arbitrator effectively immediately.>> Pauli Smith NENC CC Rep. ----- Original Message ----- From: W David Samuelsen<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, June 03, 2010 11:06 AM Subject: Re: [BOARD] Motion 2009/10-27 Removal of List Moderators That Serve on the Grievance Committee the motion does NOT apply to the state coordinators. 3. Pauli, I invite you to amend the motion to clarify the intent is any list administered or responsible for where non-AB is an admin/moderator. I know the standing rules already prevent anyone who has been on the AB from serving in the GC for 3 years, so this part is safe. It's the appointment of the non-AB members as listadmin/moderator of the lists the AB is responsible for where the general membership can post and receive replies, as well as discuss anything goes. 3. I have received a lot of feedback on this motion and all of the feedback is confusion. - The phrase "usgenweb lists" is too vague, the specific lists should have been clarified. - The reason for the motion is the other source of confusion. The reason for such a standing rule should be included in the rule itself and would just continue to cause confusion in the future if it were to pass. 1. [BOARD] REPLY Re: Motion 2009/10-27 Removal of List Moderators That Serve on the Grievance Committee
    2. W David Samuelsen
    3. under parliamentary rules, I can not amend my own motion at all once seconded. And since Linda offered to withdraw her second if I would do, so soon after I asked you. I withdrew the motion and posted new motion concerning the Guidelines document. Sherri has YET to allow it. You have a copy of the motion. Others are irked that Sherri is holding back. They know because I informed them of the fact. David On 6/4/2010 6:05 PM, Pauli Smith wrote: > Hi David, > > I'm still trying to catch up on all the emails that came today while I was at work. Thank you for asking, but I feel that since you made the original motion, you should be the one with the privilege of amending it. I think you should have a better idea now of what the problem with the initial one was, and that you also have a better handle on what it is that your original intention was. > > Thanks for asking, > Pauli > ----- Original Message ----- > From: W David Samuelsen<mailto:[email protected]> > To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> > Sent: Thursday, June 03, 2010 9:40 PM > Subject: Re: [BOARD] Motion 2009/10-27 Removal of List Moderators That Serve on the Grievance Committee > > > Pauli, > > I invite you to amend the motion to clarify the intent is any list > administered or responsible for where non-AB is an admin/moderator. > > I know the standing rules already prevent anyone who has been on the AB > from serving in the GC for 3 years, so this part is safe. > > It's the appointment of the non-AB members as listadmin/moderator of the > lists the AB is responsible for where the general membership can post > and receive replies, as well as discuss anything goes. > > > > > >>> "I move all moderators of any usgenweb lists including usgenweb-discuss be dismissed from such positions if they are currently serving in the Grievance Committee as member or as mediator or arbitrator effectively immediately.>> > > > > Pauli Smith > > NENC CC Rep. > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: W David Samuelsen<mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> > > To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]%3Cmailto:[email protected]>> > > Sent: Thursday, June 03, 2010 11:06 AM > > Subject: Re: [BOARD] Motion 2009/10-27 Removal of List Moderators That Serve on the Grievance Committee > > > > > > the motion does NOT apply to the state coordinators. > > > > You're confusing the motion with the state coordinators. > > > > The motion is very clear about the lists: usgenweb-discuss, usgenweb-se, > > usgenweb-sw, usgenweb-nw, usgenweb-ne and any other lists controlled or > > maintained under direction of the AB. > > > > David Samuelsen > > > > On 6/3/2010 10:55 AM, Vickery, Tina wrote: > > > David, > > > > > > The State Coordinators are the moderators of the state's administrative > > > list(s).
