Tina, Ed Book has long been known on USGENWEB-ALL as someone who provides thoughtful, and in my opinion very objective, analyses of the Project By-Laws. He seems well versed in Parliamentary Procedure. For the benefit of those who haven't been with the Project very long or who were not subscribed to USGENWEB-ALL in 1998 (not just Board members, but also anyone reviewing BOARD-L archives), the following list of messages from Ed Book are a good introduction to his qualifications and communication style: isearch file # 839 9/29/98 [USGENWEB-ALL-L] Re: Poss. E.g., "board meeting in private" rather than "By-laws and board".) If anyone wishes, I can also personally forward any of the preceding messages. Teri Pettit pettit@adobe.com
I approve of your choice of nominee, Ed Book, for the position of Secretary. I've known of Ed Book for the past couple of years, although I have never had any personal dealings with him. Based on what I know about him, I think he would be a good choice. I'm numbering the carrying out of Motion 99-25, vote upon a Secretary as 99-25-B. The floor is now open for discussion since there is a motion and a second. Tim
