Author: jayrite Surnames: BLUNDY ADAMS Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.blundy/55.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My Edward BLUNDY (b 1801 Holme-by-Newark, son of John & Sarah, he became a car-man of Bond Street, Lambeth) m in London in 1834 to Amelia ADAMS, who was from a well-established Leckhampstead (Berks.) family, by whom their son John was brought up. Hence, I wondered if Edward's family had any links with the Berks./ Wilts. BLUNDYs. There were also links between the female (i.e. not BLUNDY) side of the family, and BLUNDYs of those 2 counties. Thanks for your offer of your tree, but I'll decline at the mo thanks, unless a link can be established between the 2 branches. Edward may have been a bigamist, but I've yet to prove that! My grandmother was a Blundy and I have had a cursory look at the Whitchurch, Hampshire Blundys in my Broad search. I find myself a little perplexed because my great grandmother was a Dobson but on my grandfather's branch of the family. I need to research this further as I thought I was only a Blundy once! Thought you might like to know. James Broad

My grandmother was a Blundy and as a child I used to visit Uncle Percy (Blundy) at his home in Worthing, W.Sussex. His age would be about right for your search. There were many Blundys in my home town of Whitchurch, Hampshire, which is not far from your search area in Berkshire. I will check with the family when I'm next at home. Regards James Broad

    1. Edward BLUNDY m Amelia ADAMS of Leckhampstead, Berks., UK, early 1800s

    3. I've just subscribed to this list and am seeking any information please on Edward BLUNDY, who married Amelia ADAMS; she was born 5/7/1807 in Leckhampstead, Berks., but I can find no trace of his birth, their marriage, or their deaths. They had a son John BLUNDY chr 20/3/1836 in Lambeth, Surrey (London) who was sent to live with his mother's ADAMS family in Leckhampstead as a boy, where he and subsequent BLUNDY men became blacksmiths, as were the ADAMS men. There are some tenuous links to the BLUNDY family of Burbage, Wilts., but as yet I haven't been able to find a definite connection, or indeed any further information about my Edward. Many thanks, Jay

They resided in Willoughby, Welland Co., Ontario. Dorothy
