He was born April 12, 1939 in New Straitsville, Ohio the son of the late William L. and Hazel Margery Parkinson Blosser. Cork attended New Straitsville School and quit in the 11th grade. On June 12, 2014 he graduated with his G.E.D at the Perry County Senior Center; He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1962-1964; He was a member of the New Lexington American Legion John Tague Post 188 and the New Lexington Baptist Church. He was a self employed carpenter for over 45 years and was an avid bowler. Cork was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend; he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet K. Reed Blosser; son, Curtis L. (Kathy) Blosser; daughter, Diana J. Blosser; grandchildren, Dustin Starner, Katrina Blosser, Katana Blosser, Averi Blosser and Zach Woltz; three brothers, Joe (Bernice) Blosser, Bill (Garnet) Blosser and Roger (Cheryl) Blosser; two sisters, Mary L. Miller and Ann "Bess" Spears; a special nephew, Bud Barton, several other nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer, Frances and Walter Blosser; sisters, Rosa Blosser and Geraldine Lincoln; father and mother-in-law, Ralph J. and Kathryn Reed; sister and brother -in-laws, Joann (Tim) Naragon and John "Ike" Miller. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the J. E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee, Ohio with Pastor Art Minnehan officiating. Interment: Community Gardens, New Lexington, Ohio where military graveside services will be conducted. Following services friends and family will gather for food and fellowship at the New Lexington Baptist Church. Friends may call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday and any time prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
