Did Pat have another wife (indicated on Findagrave, that he did)? I will check, but all I have is already posted. I do live in Pinellas County but at the other end of the county, could she still be alive? Will do what I can, if you can give me any other information on her. Let me know. Thanks for the note on the "wonderful site" it makes me know its not all in vain. I do enjoy this, so notes like that help me continue on!!! Any other questions on the Blosser lines let me know!!!! I am iffy on puttin information online also, but if I find it online I feel its already open to the public so all is fair game. If someone contacts me to delete anything will be glad to delete it. Author: nanaannemarie Surnames: Blosser Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.blosser/191.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Mark, Periodically, I pick a "leaf" in my tree, and try to see if I can find any more info. Well, I struck a gold mine on Blosser! I don't want to post too much info on a public site, but in reading your Biography of Peter, I see that you have been to a cemetery in Pinella Cty, FL. I have a very sideways connection to an Eleanor Blosser. She was married to a Pat C Gilham II from GA. Pat III is buried in Bay Pines Nat'l Cemetery in Pinellas, but I have no idea where Eleanor is buried. Could she be in Pinellas? If not, who is? Your site/info is wonderful. Between FamilySearch/Rootsweb/Ancestry/Findagrave and indivual posts, there is so much info, and some of it seems to be a mixture of generations. I'm sure you've seen postings where the child has been born before or after the mother has died! But the name is right, so it must be the same person! Would love to find Eleanor. She is a cousin's grandmother. Thanks, AnneMarie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. It is possible that Peter's and Benjamin' father was Jakob Blaser, born before 1770 (wife unknown). I have no proof of that possibility; only conjecture. Author: jordanghost Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.blosser/204.1.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: book is part of the Our Name series, a collection of facts and statistics, alongside short historical commentary, created to tell the story of previous generations who have shared this name. (They can only get that from family stories already told.) The information in book is a of research and data pulled from census records, military records, ships' logs, immigrant and port records, as well as other reputable sources. The other reputable sources will have to be from 1. Gloria Keller Quinroz of Vallejo, CA and her 25 years of research on Blosser's. 2. Donna Hughes of Columbus, OH and her son Mark on the work of the 3 John Blosser's. 3. Gordon C. Baker of Rockville, MD Blosser Book (extensive work completed in Switzerland) 4. Elizabeth Blosser, "Abraham Blosser Family Book" 5. Samuel H. Blosser in 1902 wrote "Genealogical History of the Blosser Family, As Known in America," printed by A.S. Kieffer & Son, Dayton, VA. 6. And the countless individuals who have placed their stories and family names on Rootsweb.com, message boards on different sites, and the countless county history books listing Blosser's in their histories. I guess their not getting paid. No I haven't read their book. I have paid to read the documents. I have paid for the books and information or given information in trade for other information. I'm not part of Margaret Culp Blosser's. I descend from John Blosser and Nancy Anne Blosser, then their son George Blosser and Lydia Grove(s). It could just be one of those generic 'name' books Ancestry writes. You know, sort of like the generic 'family crest' stuff. Author: jordanghost Surnames: Blosser Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.blosser/204/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I would like to know why Ancestry is using information that a lot of us have researched for the Blosser family and is trying to make money off our surnames. Blosser is one of the largest families that have appeared here on message boards that information has been given freely to others and some members have written books on the families. I guess now ancestry is trying to make another dollar off our research and say their genealogists are doing the research. Do not be tricked in to buying this book. If you are already a member you can research census records you have already paid for to get info and paid for other documents, plus free sites that ancestry has bought up and get a hold of individuals for information freely. 3. I would appreciate any information on Elias (Eli) Blosser, who married Matilda Keller (she was born about 1855). They lived in the Elkhart IN area around 1880-1900. They had several children, some died early. I would like to contact any kin. Lucinda (Sipe) Wheeler (b. abt 1811 d. 1886) is my g-great grandmother. She was married to my g-great grandfather James B. Wheeler in Rockingham County, Virginia on February 13, 1828. I am having difficulty finding good information on Lucinda's mother. All information I have seen shows her father to be John Sipe of Rockingham County, Virginia, son of Peter and Anna Sipe. But I have conflicting sources in regards to her mother. Some of the information I have seen lists Catherine Tutwiler (b. 1781 d. 1871) as John's wife and Lucinda's mother while other sources lists Susannah Blosser (b. about 1773 d. after 1850) as John's wife and Lucinda's mother. I understand that John may have been married twice. But if this is the case, which and when was John's first wife and which and when was his second wife? Most importantly to me, which woman was John's wife during the time of Lucinda's birth (1811)? Both women were alive during 1811 based on the information I have seen. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any original information on this matter and all information I have been able to find is online under Rootsweb, GenCircle, and various online family biographies. Any information to help solve the matter in question is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
