Hey researchers, In my many efforts to locate the one and only Francis Clapp that was imported by our Martha on July 9, 1724, I have hit a huge brick wall and need all the help I can get. First, I have not found a Francis Clapp (Male) in east coast states around the year 1724. I am even guessing that he might have been at least 18-30 when he was imported but still found nothing. I then took the year 1724 and did a plus or minus of 20 years for all the locations and that turned up nothing. I even tried to look for him as if he was a baby in 1724 and if he was a old man in 1724, nothing there either. I then started looking for the Clapp family that was in Virginia and may have been close to Martha. Not a lead one, that have gotten me no where. The only lead I have to work on right now is the one sent to me the other day of the Clapp's and Blankenship marriages. I am hoping to make some kind of connection there. Then to top it off I just did a search on the Clapp family in general, just to see what would turn up. I found one branch of the Clapp family that came from Germany and one that came from England. Now which family did Francis Clapp come from? Your guess at this point is as good as mine. I am starting to think that Ralph and Martha and all of those around them were in a witness protection program from the King of England. Below is just a K. I. S. S. (keep it short and simple) version of the two Clapp family and this information was taken from Rootsweb.com. The set of Clapp's that came from England seems to be the family that moved to Mass. and was neighbors with Ann and James Blankinship. The Clapp from Germany seem to have settled in PA then moved on from there. I do realize that there is a very short distance between Mass and Pa that's what making the job so hard trying to keep the two family separated. So far I have found no real proof that these two family were connected in any way. Here if I may, invite all new comers to check the Rootsweb archives that is a wealth of information stored that.
