Jacque, is that where shortness comes from, lol? All my brothers and sisters surpass the 5'8" mark and I have to "stretch" also to make the 5'2" ... and I still miss it by 1/4 inch, ha ha. My BLANKENSHIP 3rd great-grandmother appears to have had dark hair and eyes and olive-toned skin - of course, the photo I have is from circa 1906 so who really knows. She was also rumored to have been Cherokee but I haven't been able to find any evidence of that. I think perhaps her dark coloring came from the GIBSONs though. Kay
