Lloyd Bockstruck wrote that she married him in the summer of 1725: "On 5 October 1725 the Henrico County court held at Varina ordered Edward Stanley, who intermarried with Martha the relict of Ralph Blankenship, to be summoned to appear at the next court and bring the orphans of Ralph Blankenship, deceased. Accordingly, some of the children of Ralph Blankenship were still under age in 1725." >> Hey all researchers, I have to jump in on this one also. I know of Lloyd Bockstruck and the work he has done for the Blankenship family. I am not questioning his date here, just the dates of the birth of Ralph and Martha children. OK I have been told by all the Blankenship researchers that Ralph and Martha had six children. Richard Blankenship born about 1690 1725 - 1690 = 35 years old William Blankenship born about 1691 1725 - 1691 = 34 years old John B Blankenship born about 1695 1725 - 1695 = 30 years old James Blankenship born about 1698 1725 -1698 = 27 years old Ralph Blankenship born about 1700 1725 - 1700 = 25 years old Ann Blankenship born about 1702 1725 - 1702 = 23 year old So my question to all of you is who were the children of Ralph Blankenship that were still under age in 1725 and that Edward Stanley took to raise after the marriage of Martha and Edward Stanley in 1725. Here I need to add my thoughts on one thing: Martha imported Francis Clapp to the USA on July 9, 1724, and Martha married Edward Stanley in 1725. I think Francis Clapp was a close family member of Martha's that she wanted at her wedding to Edward. (Like maybe a father or older brother.) I have no proof of this, this is just my thoughts. Sue B.
