Kay, when I first met my PEARCE cousins (Pearce/Blankenship) a new found cousin told me that I was definitely a "Blankenship" and that my sister was a "Pearce". The difference in the 2 of us...I'm short, rather stocky and have the dark hair; my sister was a couple inches taller than me, have the blonde/red hair and was slender. We (my sister & I) never knew our greatgrandparents. My dad is tall, olive complected with blue eyes. Goes to show you that genetic characteristics enjoy confusing all of us. :o) Another thing that is so interesting is how many of us would love to prove Native American heritage when our ancestors made such an effort to deny it.
