We are all very fair skinned. I even moved to another state, and a lady I work with remarked on the fact that the only Blankenships that she knows is blonde. Pam >> Hi Pam, My line of Blankenship, and I have seen picture back for three or four generations were very dark skinned and had very dark hair. In most cases their hair was very brown or black (almost blue). The family traits in my line of Blankenships are: 1. dark complexion (very olive skin, very little effect for a great tan in summer) 2. dark hair brown (almost black hard to perm for the females) 3. tall (but not overly tall 5' 7'' to 7'5'') 4. slender (in early years of life, mid-life the pounds show up) 5. nose (not a Jimmy Durante snout but a good size nose) These family traits showed up in my line as far back as I can remember. I have seen picture of a lot of my father kin folks and this holds true with all of them. ALL OF THEM. I have been ask before if I had an Indian in my blood. I use to laugh and say YES, now I know that is a possibly that it is so. Setting here thinking as I am typing this I can only think of ONE blonde cousin, she got her blonde hair and blue eyes from her father's side of the family. OK now, for the sake of not auguring with you about our background. Do you think Ralph could have been an Indian and Martha the good-looking blonde. I did just post something about one of the Blankenship men from his service records that said he was fair skinned and blue eyed. This I think would have been Ralph's grandson if I remember right. I am not saying all Blankenship are dark completed and dark hair, I can only speak for my line. Maybe I am not from Ralph and Martha but another line of Blankenship's, one we have not found yet. Our Blankenships are all red-haired, freckled, blue or green eyes. Our Blankenship's mother and father were 5th cousins, dad had black hair and even at death he had not a grey hair in his head. Mom has brown hair, and one sister has reddish blonde, 1 black 2 brown and myself brownish blonde. These genepools are something else.
