    1. [BLANKENSHIP] My Introduction + Blankenship Bedford VA & TN

    3. Hello Blankenship cousins everywhere! Tammy Blankenship (TT) referred me to this list, so I am hoping to learn about the family and also help others who are "stuck". I have to admit, though, I am one of those stuck! I am tracing the parentage of one Barsheba Blankenship (b. 1753 Bedford Co., VA) who married Rev. War soldier John Jones about 1775. This family migrated, along with many other families, from Bedford/Franklin Co., VA to the area of Smith Co., TN by 1800. I know Barsheba was a Blankenship, and several families with this name also came to Smith Co., TN and some moved on to Southern Illinois. The only clues I have are that her husband, John Jones, was deeded land from Peter Blankenship in Franklin Co., VA in 1787, and also that this couple had a grandson named William Blankenship Paysinger. Right now, I am leaning toward Barsheba as being a child of Isham Blankenship, Sr. and Sarah Wallace. Two of his sons, Robert Hezekiah and Barnett Blankenship moved to Smith Co., TN. It would be logical that these men were either Barsheba's brothers or perhaps very close cousins. I look forward to seeing everyone's posts in this list. Thanks to TT for steering me in this direction! Jeff Lensman Salt Lake City, Utah
