Hi Sue... No, I don't think these guys hook up with your bunch in any way. According to Gayle, John is the son of Cisley Blankenship who married Barnett Jones. I think she is correct. Cisley was a daughter of Peter and Cisley. Cisley was born about 1770, married Barnett Jones in Franklin Co. on October 23, 1795. John was born 1785 to 1790. Franklin Co. Sept. 1793 Court: "Overseers of the poor bind John Blankenship, bastard child of Cisley Blankenship to Dudley Lumsden". Married Mary Ann Dillion on February 7, 1804, Stokes Co., NC, daughter of Elizabeth Blankenship Dillion and Jesse Dillion. Children of John and Mary Ann: 1) Peter Blankenship, born about August 31, 1805. 2) William Moore Blankenship, born about 1807. Married 1st) August 28, 1827, Giles Co., Mary E. Married September 19, 1849, Patrick Co. VA, Ann T. Potter, daughter of William and Nancy Potter. 5) Arthur Mosley Blankenship, born 1810 to 1815. Married January 18, 1836, Botetourt Co.
