The Col. in Blankenship Family History gives John as the father of Joseph with 3 sons - Beverly, Daniel and Stephen and no wife. (My edition of the Col's book was one of the first so what changes were made I don't know) Gayle on page 65 of Blankenship Ancestors gives John as father of Joseph with possible wife Elizabeth in 1753 and children, Joel, Joseph, Stephen, Beverly, Daniel, David, and Martha. (Her only note about David is that he was in the Bedford VA Militia). I am in the middle of straightening out 25+ years of notes, families, letters etc and have everything in piles in the dining room. So far I haven't found the reference that gives Sarah as a wife of Joseph. As I remember it was a deed so will keep looking. I know I saw it and my husband will tell you I don't throw anything Blankenship away.
