Melissa, from Rootsweb, I copied a message on Land Deeds in Pittsylvania County, VA. Part of Pitts. is now W.Va if I understand it right. In 1830 John Blankinship owned all of Pitts. Co. Book 59, p.516 July 7, 1859 Samuel Amos and Susan his wife, to George W. Blankenship and William J. Blankenship for $517.00, a certain tract of land lying within Pitt. on the waters of Cool Branch adjoining the land of William Burdett and others and containing 94 acres, sss.Sam Amos etc....Recorded December 17, 1860.
