BLANKENSHIP, 83, of Kansas City, passed away January 14, 2003, at his home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 18, at the Park Lawn Chapel. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Vernon was born April 7, 1919 in Success, MO. Vernon was a loving husband, Dasd and Grandpa. He live and worked hard for his family. He was a caring and gentle man and would always help anyone who would need a helping hand. He lived for his devotion and love to God in his heart. He worked for Swift and Company 28 years before he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, wife, two sons and one daughter. He leaves two sons, Melvin Blankenship and Gary Blankenshipand his wife, Cynthia; a sister, Opal Copeland; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
