    2. Paul Eugene “Gene” Strauser of Sullivan, Missouri passed away at St. John’s Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the age of 59 years. Gene, as his family and friends knew him, was born on July 15, 1943 at Sullivan, Missouri to Paul J. and Anna Mae (Blankenship) Strauser. He had lived the majority of his life in the Sullivan area and had attended Sullivan High School. On July 15, 1962 he was married to Norma Luttrell in Sullivan and to this marriage four children were born. The family later moved to Washington, Missouri where they made their home for 18 years. Gene was employed as custodial maintenance supervisor of the Washington School District. The love of his life was his grandchildren and horses, he also found pleasure in traveling and debating which some people would call arguing. He is survived by his wife Norma of the family home, three sons, Tyrone Strauser and wife Debra of New Haven,Missouri, Kevin Strauser and Chad Strauser and wife Tiffaney all of Washington, Missouri, one daughter, Stacey Dunker and husband Bob of New Haven, 11 grandchildren, Derek, Amanda, Ariel, Robby, Bryan, Chelsea, Brett, John, Wessley, Wyatt and Kyle, two brothers, Benny and Dennis Strauser and wife Sharon all of Sullivan, two sisters, Janet Koppelman and husband David and Vicky Bastecki and husband Carl all of Sullivan, special aunts, Betty Jo Woods and Bonnie Kimberlin, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Albert Pettet officiating. Interment was in Cave Spring Cemetery. Sullivan Independent 14 of January 2003
