    3. Since several people have asked about the children of Reuben Blankenship, son of Hudson I thought I'd just submit this to the mail list. All this discussion made me dig into my files and I found the Probate Record of Reuben from the Coosa County, Al Courthouse. In the final dispersal of funds dated 8 February 1858 the heirs were listed as follows: ....said decedant left the following heirs, viz. Henry Blankenship, heirs of Miles G. Blankenship, dead, Mary Doss wife of William Doss, Susan Coleburn wife of John Coleburn, Edith Robeson widow of Thos. Robeson, James Blankenship, Mark Blankenship, heirs of John Blankenship, and Rhoda Brewer wife of Silas Brewer. All of whom are entitled to share said sum of Eight dollars and Sixty nine cents equally. As a result of this, each of the nine heirs received 96 1/2 cents. While digging I also found the marriage license of William Henry Blankenship, son of John listed above and my gr gr grandfather, and Sarah Ellen Roberts dated 3 February 1845. For some reason I had stuck it in Reuben's probate record. Now if I can just remember where I re-file all this. Someone had a Polly listed as a daughter of Reuben. It seems that I have seen this myself before but if she was his daughter, she must have died early without marrying. > > In a message dated 2/7/03 4:28:21 PM, Janet@eastex.net writes: > > << Reuben Blankenship of Coosa County, Al was > > born in 1763 in Virginia and died October 27, 1850 and is buried in Poplar > > Springs Cemetery in Coosa County.
