    3. Catherine, when Reuben brought his family down from Hill County, they settled in the woods near a community called Blue Water. That is where most of them are buried. There was another little community named Menard Chapal that had a church and school. They are about equi distance between both. But for some reason, most are buried at Blue Water cemetary. Some of his granddaughters are buried with their husbands at Menard Chapel. Not far from were Reuben and Mattie and John Henry and Mary Eliz lived now is a little post office store, farming community called Segno, TX. Then in the census, it was all Livingston, and they lived on the Liv to Kounze Rd. Now it is a farm to market. What you would do is come to Livingston, TX. Then you travel from Livingston out Hwy 146 approximately 10-12 miles and turn right onto a farm to market to Segno. Before you ever get to Segno, on the right, you will see a road and sign that says Blue Water Cemetary. The cemetary is on the left immediately off of the road. You won't be able to miss it. If you don't turn right to Blue Wtr, you will turn left and go until you see a sign that says Menard Chapel Cemetary. You will turn left again. This cemetary is back in the woods on Menard Creek. What you turned off of is the old road. So if you don't turn left into Menard but continue down that road, you will come to old house places. One is where Reuben's granddaughter, Maude and Jasper Collins lived. Their daughter lives in a mobile home on the property. Further down, is a brick house on the left on the land where Reuben and all lived. His grandson, Bennie Samuel, lived there until 1989 when he passed away. There are other houses along the way where his grandchildren have lived. It is all in the country. The newer road by passed them all to take out the curves in the road. Uncle Bennie was never happy after that cause the county took some of his land for the new road. Ha. He cussed stock laws and county govs until he died. One of the last conversations, we had on a Sun afternoon sitting on his little front porch involved that subject. He farmed and ran cattle. Until he died he had chickens and my sister and I took him his chicken feed, cleaned his house and made his dinner every two weeks. In return, we got to drink coffee while he ate and listen to wonderful things that you can't find on the census. Tales abt his grandfather, etc. I miss him so much. Bennie's brother, my grandfather, Wm. Arthur and is family are buried at CampRuby Cemetary which is 12 miles out of Livingston on Hwy 190 E towards Woodville, TX. You will see a sign that turns right to Camp Ruby, Dallardsville, Big Sandy. A few miles down you will find Camp Ruby Cemetary. This was a logging town where my family worked until the war. My dad worked in the shipyards at Beaumont until after the war. Then he and my mom moved into Livingston. That is where me and my two sisters were born and raised. Where do you live? They have a large Escapee ecampment outside Livingston on Hwy 146 toward Libery, tX. Let me know when you plan to visit.
