Hi all researchers, This is what I just found out on my John Jago Blankenship that married Christina Plymale. I had the chance to look at the Bible that was handed down to my father, Jessie Malcolm Blankenship, by his mother Susie M. Divers Blankenship. Form Susie I understand from my mother that Flora Frances gave it to Susie and Jessie Moses Blankenship. Christina must have given it to her daughter Flora Frances. There is not much information in the Bible, just that the Bible did belong to Christina P. Blankenship, this is on the first few pages, where that is a place for a name. Where it says this Bible belongs to _____________. The writing is so beautiful, it is old English writing but I can read every word of it. It have the date that Christina and John Jago were married and a list of their children. The birthdays of Chirstina and John. The Bible is well tatter and torn so from this I would say that it was used. Some of the corners of the pages are turned down, as to mark a special verse. So with this information and the FACT that I have seen this Bible and can verify the information from copies I have of the Bible pages, I am now changing my information to read as you see below. THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN ME. I can and will send a copy of these pages to anyone that wants them. (Mike here is your chance to raise you hand. LOL) This is the way I am adding it to my family tree: 1850 census show John Jago being born in 1796, 21 years before the date that Sue Blankenship Altice took from Christina Plymale Blankenship's Bible that was believed to have been written by her. The date in her Bible says 26 September 1817, and that is the date I am going to use in my research. I have seen this Bible.
