Hi, Ted & Joyce, In my records I have that the parent of your Lavinia is EDMUND. This Edmund married Sarah Cargill in Bibb County, Alabama on January 22, 1822. On the 1850 Marshall County, Alabama Census, Subdivision 23, page 227, #269/269 is: BLANKINSHIP, Edmond 56 Farmer 400 GA Sarah 56 GA Daniel 20 Farmer AL Thomas 16 Farmer AL Eliza 7 AL According to Madge Petit in her book, FAMILIES OF GENERY'S GAP, ALABAMA she states: "In 1830, there were seven Blankenship families in Shelby County. They were: Edmund - s/o/ Daniel. In 1840 Daniel was living with Edmund A lot of her information is wrong because it was taken from the memory of her mother, but quite a bit of it is correct, so you make your choice. I'm sure you know that Lavina BLANKENSHIP and William Anderson Glasscock moved to what is now Chilton County, Alabama where William died aft August 28, 1881 when he remarried to Martha Ann PORTER in Chilton County, Alabama. Lavinia is on the 1880 Chilton County, Alabama Census at Mims Cross Road so if this is the same William A. Glasscock who married Martha Ann Porter, Lavinia died between 1880 and 8-28-1881. William is buried at Old Green Cemetery, Chilton County according to Ben Roberts in YOURS, MINE AND THEIRS. He does not have a tombstone. There are 92 unmarked graves in this cemetery. I think that the Chilton County BLANKENSHIPS descend from Daniel, but so far have no direct proof. There are 22 marked BLANKENSHIP graves in Chilton County as listed in CEMETERIES OF CHILTON.
