In North Alabama(Morgan, Madison and Limestone counties) there are numerous Blankenships as early s prior to the 1830 Census. Examples are Augustine, Joshua and Hudson all sons of Hezekiah. There are others, but all seem to be descendants of Hezekiah and Miss Potter. or their cousins all descendants of the original Hudson. However, we have a third Alabama BLANKENSHIP whom we cannot positively identify. She is Lavinia BLANKENSHIP who married William Anderson GLASSCOCK in 1847 Coosa County. In the 1860 Talladega Census, a Edmund BLANKENSHIP, age 55, is enumerated with Wm. Anderson & Lavinia's family. In attempting to track land records, I find that Henry BLANKENSHIP lives very close to Thomas GLASSCOCK ( Wm. Anderson's father). I vacillate between believing Edmund and Henry are Lavinia's father. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Ted & Joyce ==== BLANKENSHIP Mailing List ==== Submit your family lines to the BLANKENSHIP master files - contact list admin at BKAYMEL@aol.com for more info ...
