Hello out here! Have had some time getting my queries to go through. Thanks to Kay I believe we have cleared up my email problems. Talking about brick wall's .. I have a river dam blocking!! Looking for info on Perry Lee Blankenship, died in September of 1940, in Tallassee. He was married three times and I believe his last wife was named Roxie. She died when my Dad, Joseph Andrew Blankenship, Sr. was a few months old. One of my Dad's sister, Lucy Piper, lived and died in West Tallassee. Would love to know Perry Lee's parents or just anything! Thanks so much for any help. Catherine

Hi Catherine -- I have information on your Perry Lee B. from an off-line genealogist. Perry Lee's father was Henry Washington Blankenship, son of Solomon Blankenship (which makes us fairly close kin!). Henry was born July 12, 1866 in AL (somewhere) and died September 26, 1940 in Eclectic, Elmore Co., AL. He is buried in Carolina Cem., Elmore Co., AL , lot # T 20 N, R 19 E, S 8. Henry Washington was married to Sarah Elizabeth Crowell, born Abt. 1832 in NC, and Aft. 1880. Henry and Sarah were married July 29, 1858 in Henry County, GA. Perry was one of 6 children. Perry's 1st wife was Cora Edna Graham Wilder, born ? but died November 1896. They married in Elmore County, AL, on December 27, 1888. They had 5 children. Perry then married Mattie Ophelia Wilder, b. ? but died February 04, 1903, perhaps in Elmore or Coosa County. They married on December 09, 1900 in Coosa County. With Mattie, Perry had your father Joseph Andrew and another child, Mattie Eulala Blankenship, born December 29, 1902, probably in Elmore or Coosa County, AL.. Finally, Perry married Roxie Lynch (b. and d. dates unknown) in Elmore County, on December 27, 1908. I have only 1 child listed for them, Roy S. Blankenship born in December of 1909. Hope this helps.
