    2. Lee - have you considered writing some letters? I had some luck doing this when looking for ancestors/descendants of one of my JOHNSON brick walls - looked up addresses in the US with the same name and sent out about 7 letters and BINGO! So maybe one of these Ross BLANKENSHIPs could yield the sledge hammer you need? <A HREF="http://kevdb.infospace.com/_1_28W3UKH0445DTP9__info.anstry/kevdb?KCFG=us&OTMPL=/res/r2.html&FF=1&QFM=&QN=blankenship&QF=ross&QC=&QS=&TQA=1512+Oakwood+Ave+NE&TQC=huntsville&TQS=al&QP=&QST=&QHN=&QZ=35811&QK=1&QO=US&QD=&DM=&&QI=0&jnum=5&jindex=0">Blankenship, Ross</A> Oakwood Ave NE, Huntsville, AL 35811       <A HREF="http://kevdb.infospace.com/_1_28W3UKH0445DTP9__info.anstry/kevdb?KCFG=us&OTMPL=/res/r2.html&FF=1&QFM=&QN=blankenship&QF=ross&QC=&QS=&TQA=&TQC=latham&TQS=mo&QP=&QST=&QHN=&QZ=65050&QK=1&QO=US&QD=&DM=&&QI=1&jnum=5&jindex=0">Blankenship, Ross</A> Latham, MO 65050       <A HREF="http://kevdb.infospace.com/_1_28W3UKH0445DTP9__info.anstry/kevdb?KCFG=us&OTMPL=/res/r2.html&FF=1&QFM=&QN=blankenship&QF=ross&QC=&QS=&TQA=2401+SE+44th+St&TQC=oklahoma+city&TQS=ok&QP=&QST=&QHN=&QZ=73129&QK=1&QO=US&QD=&DM=&&QI=2&jnum=5&jindex=0">Blankenship, Ross</A> SE 44th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73129         <A HREF="http://kevdb.infospace.com/_1_28W3UKH0445DTP9__info.anstry/kevdb?KCFG=us&OTMPL=/res/r2.html&FF=1&QFM=&QN=blankenship&QF=ross&QC=&QS=&TQA=13753+Marshall+Ave&TQC=warren&TQS=mi&QP=&QST=&QHN=&QZ=48089&QK=1&QO=US&QD=&DM=&&QI=3&jnum=5&jindex=0">Blankenship, Ross S</A> Marshall Ave, Warren, MI 48089       <A HREF="http://kevdb.infospace.com/_1_28W3UKH0445DTP9__info.anstry/kevdb?KCFG=us&OTMPL=/res/r2.html&FF=1&QFM=&QN=blankenship&QF=ross&QC=&QS=&TQA=108+Byron+Ln&TQC=victoria&TQS=tx&QP=&QST=&QHN=&QZ=77901&QK=1&QO=US&QD=&DM=&&QI=4&jnum=5&jindex=0">Blankenship, Ross S</A> Byron Ln, Victoria, TX 77901

    2. Kay, I have thought about writing letters, but have not got around to it. One thing I do, when I go to an area to do research, is to visit the area Chamber of Commerce. I try to get a local county map and a telephone directory. In my research, I am as interested in living relatives as the "dead" ones. I have called and met with several living cousins. I always take them a copy of their family genealogy and usually they will call over other brothers and sisters to talk to us. I have been able to scan a lot of their family pictures and documents. In one instance, while visiting the Barrett family in Lenoir, Caldwell County, NC., I was really surprised when they had some of the same old family photos on their walls as on mine. This Barrett line came from my grandfather's first wife--Weanona Mitchell from Hawkins County, TN. James H. Blankenship and Weanona had one living child, Beatrice Blankenship. Beatrice Elizabeth Blankenship b. 6/16/1903 d. 9/1/1995 m. 1920, Pleasant Coy Barrett b. 4/3/1900 d. 4/4/1985. They raised a large family that lives in and around Lenoir, Caldwell County, NC. I have called most of Beatrice's living children and none of them have any Blankenship information. At one time, one of Beatrice's sons was trying to prove Native American heritage, without any luck. By the way, my wife, Sherrill Ross Blankenship is researching Johnson's in Virginia and Wilkes County, NC.
