Ok - unless someone has any definite PRIMARY EVIDENCE that Nancy's name was FRENCH or was STOWERS I am personally chaning my files to reflect French/Stowers with notes as to the theories behind what her name is. Mike wrote me the following: ""... said she MIGHT, I repeat MIGHT, have been a French and suddenly that surname starts showing up on ALL the lists for her.  I do not think she was a French.  After looking at the children from Travis Stowers on the 1820 census I definitely think she was one of his and I also think she got married VERY early...like 13 or 14.  Noah's brother, Otey, also married one of Travis's daughters and I think it all fits together neatly.  But, of course, nobody has definite proof of any of this ...
