Hi, Lori. Whereas I have no definitive answer for you, I can tell you that the sources in my possession show no indication of a child named Tazwell/Tazewell in Arthur's household. As for this Archibald, this is apparently the son of Arthur, and has been stated as being the same Archibald as the one who later settled in the Capuchin Creek area, on the border of Campbell and Scott Counties, TN. This Archibald was my ancestor, and many of his descendants can be found on my website, located at: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/c/a/r/John-C-Carter/ Once there, click on "Book: Links to John's Genealogy Reports," then on "Contents," then on "Register Report of Archibald Blankenship." There has, however, been some indication that there were TWO Archibald Blankenships in this period, and further research is needed to determine the differences. As for sources of information on Arthur, these are the sources I know of which refer to his family: "The Blankenship Family History," by Col. Leslie C. Blankinship, reprinted 1981 "Early Settlers of Lee County, Virginia and Adjacent Counties," Vol.2 by Hattie Byrd Muncy Bales, 1977 "The Descendants of Francis Muncey I, with Allied Families" by Mary Edith Shaw, 1948 "Blankenship Records," Vol. 1 by Julia Gougler, pre-1985 "Blankenship Records," Vol. 2 by Betty Carson, 1985 "Blankenship Ancestors," by Gayle King Blankenship, 1995 Many of the sources indicate that Arthur had 3 wives, and had as many as 8 children by each of the 3 wives. An interesting tidbit, however, is that Arthur previously lived in TAZEWELL County, VA, prior to relocating to Lee County. Records place him in Tazewell County in 1804. I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, and good luck! John John C. VA census. Archibald and Arthur. I have a Tazwell (Tazewell) Blankenship born 1825 in Lee Co. and wonder if one of these might be his father. If anyone knows of this family please pass it along. I would really appreciate the help. Lori
