Information from Andrew Co,A Community,published by the Andrew Co.Historical Society Blankenships were early pioneers to Andrew Co,coming from Cumberland Co.KY around 1840.Bought land first in Rochester Twp.,later Nodaway and Jefferson Twps.Covered wagon trip from KY included three generations of Blankenships,along with KY neighbors:Foster,Jackman,Carroll,Merrit,Tindle &McClaren. William Blankenshipb.VA bet1754-1760.Moved to Irdell Co.NCc.1798,to Cumberland Co.,KY 1805.First wife Patsy died in KY.2nd wife Mary Ann,buried with him in Greenwick Cem.According to tombstone,he was 105 when he died Dec 1859,4 months after Mary Ann,who died at the age of 65.
