    1. [BLANKENSHIP] Alabama Blankenships
    2. My wife descends from both Daniel and Reubin thru Mark & Frances. However, we have a third Alabama BLANKENSHIP whom we cannot positively identify. She is Lavinia BLANKENSHIP who married William Anderson GLASSCOCK in 1847 Coosa County. In the 1860 Talladega Census, a Edmund BLANKENSHIP, age 55, is enumerated with Wm. Anderson & Lavinia's family. In attempting to track land records, I find that Henry BLANKENSHIP lives very close to Thomas GLASSCOCK ( Wm. Anderson's father). I vacillate between believing Edmund and Henry are Lavinia's father. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Ted & Joyce

    3. Evdon, I checked with my cousins in alabama. They still live in Sylacauga. But they did not know this Al Blankenship who is in the marines. We are Reuben's line with Reuben Buck, son of John B, being my gggrandfather. It is good to hear from someone who is Daniel's line. 2. Don & Betty Stockdale
    3. Irma: I cannot ident this one, the Al is probably an aka, but is most likely of Reuben's or Daniel's group. When I'm in Calera in June for the reunion I will see if I can find out who this one is as he is most interesting to me, as I'm retired Military and try to track the proud Blankenship Military History along with the Stockdale's. 1. [BLANKENSHIP] Yet another new "IT"
    2. Since bjbrownig@xwv.net has failed to post their "puzzle", a new "IT" has been chosen for this week: The new "IT" is: jennifer@crucialsystems.com Here's what to do: 1. You have until 10 PM Sunday night to post your wanted BLANKENSHIP information. 2. Choose ONE name out of your BLANKENSHIP file that is a brick wall for you or that you just want additional information on. 3. Post everything you know about that person to the list - the rest of the list will help you throughout the following week - until a new "IT" is chosen on Friday - to find out anything and everything about the person you chose as possible. IF YOU HAVE NOT POSTED BY 10 PM WEDNESDAY NIGHT ANOTHER PERSON WILL BE CHOSEN AS "IT". IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO THAT A NEW "IT" CAN BE CHOSEN. Should you have any questions, please contact me. Let's have fun!!! Kay

Are the various spellings of Blankenship (i.e. Blankinship, Blankingship, Blenkinship, etc.) documented as to the origin of those spellings? What IS the proper spelling of the name? I have always thought BLANKENSHIP was the proper name but what proof is there of that other than that being how Ralph first appears to us and the most commonly used spelling??? For the sake of uniformity wouldn't it be easier to change the spellings of all the various branches to reflect BLANKENSHIP and keep a note in the applicable files that the name was spelled differently on census records, etc? Just a few random, late-night thoughts lol. Kay

    1. [BLANKENSHIP] Ralph Sr - Jr - II - III etc
    2. QUESTION: I have never seen any of the Ralph's referred to as "Sr" "Jr" "II" or "III" on any documents I have seen other than someone's ged file or "Notes". Does anyone know if such documentation actually exists or are these just researchers various ways of distinguishing between Ralph (m. Martha), Ralph his son and Ralph, his grandson? Kay

    1. [BLANKENSHIP] Perry Lee
    2. Hello out here! Have had some time getting my queries to go through. Thanks to Kay I believe we have cleared up my email problems. Talking about brick wall's .. I have a river dam blocking!! Looking for info on Perry Lee Blankenship, died in September of 1940, in Tallassee. He was married three times and I believe his last wife was named Roxie. She died when my Dad, Joseph Andrew Blankenship, Sr. was a few months old. One of my Dad's sister, Lucy Piper, lived and died in West Tallassee. Would love to know Perry Lee's parents or just anything! Thanks so much for any help. Catherine

Don't mean any offense but Cd#29 could be cd#29 that John Smith recorded, ya know? That's why I wanted to know if it was the FTM cd's or what.
