Please.....Can anyone help place my gg-grandfather, Charles Blankenship b. May 1, 1847, or his father Henry, into any of their lines. We believe they were from Missouri and came to Texas by way of Arkansas. I have them in the Hill Co. 1900 census, but nothing before 1886 when the family lived in Alvarado, TX. Linda
Hi touight I might say that I have a Henry Blankenship born in June 12 1863 in Letcher/Perry Co. of William and Rhoda Blankenship who had family in the MO. area but I have no info on who they were. Only that they lived close to the Arkansas border town of Three Brothers. I have a block in finding which William Blankenship who had a wife named Rhoda. My Grandfather went with his parents to Arkansas in 1904-05 and married a Sarah Boatman in about 1907-08. Bob Blankenship MKrudwig@aol.com wrote: > Hi Kathy & other Blankenship kin. Hey Guys, Its been about a month since I posted my last Blankenship request so I thought maybe I would give it another shot in hope that another person who has decended from Calvin and Deliah Blankenship will see this positng and be able to get me past the brick wall I have ran into. Here goes nothing: Calvin Blankenship Born: 1820-25 in Tennessee Died: (November 23, 1863) maybe 1864 Parents: probably born in Tennessee William C. Blankenship (53 yrs), married to Pamela J. in 1880, maybe his brother Calvins Bro He was a Corporal in the Confederate Army In the Mitchell Cemetery are two rocks with carvings; on the west side "C. Blankenship 1864" and next to it, a rock that just says "Delilia" (These rocks are gone and replaced with white granite stones by great grand son Earnest C. Blankenship. On the east side of their graves are two rocks, one with A.R.H. Jan 9, 1874 and one has L.D. Harper 1874. These stones mark the graves of one of Calvin and Delilia's grand daughters and her husband. This is info that my Gr aunt Pearl included in a letter she wrote me in 1994 before she died. Married: Delilia born in Illinois around 1823-24. Died: after 1880, before 1900 --- Unless she moved out of Texas CO and that is why I cant find her Both of her Parents were born in Tennessee. Calvin and Delilia's children, all born in Missouri: William Born around 1844 or 1845 Angeline Born around 1847 Lame or Iame around 1841 Sandy Born around 1851 Franklin O. Born around 1852 John Born around 1855 David Born around 1857 Martha E. Born around 1860 Henry W. Born around 1864 Delila was probably pregnant when Calvin died. They resided in "boone township" and Kinderpost Mo. I obtained a lot of info from Texas Co Hertiage books from ppl who were gracious enough to send it to me. But I know nothing more than what I have listed. Misty
