.Why doesn't anybody else claim Elizabeth Blankenship,b:1763 who married Humphrey Garland in 1779/1780? Sources say she was born and married in Warren county,NC. Could that have been Warren county of another state? Thanks, DG ............................................................................ ...................... Subject: Joseph Blankenship Joseph is in Col. Blankenship's book as D16. (at least he is D16 in my edition which is a "gazillion" years old ) He is said to have had Beverly, Daniel, Stephen, Abraham, David, Martha who married Obediah Fulks. He was in Chesterfield in 1764.
Searching for descendants of D. Blankenship who married Amanda A. Riggs on August 6, 1891. They were married in Decatur County, Tennessee. Amanda A. Riggs was b abt 1864. Bondman on this marriage license was S. P. Loftin. Hope someone has these names in their database!! Thank you so much. Wanda RIGGS Ketelhut

Thanks, Bob. I figured you had already searched through what was available and come up empty. But it's always worth posting a new message every once in a while, as list members change, people have info that they can't fit, and someone else's query rings a bell, etc. I've been spending the last few days tracking down descendants of Nancy Ann Eliza Coxwell Riley McLendon's stepchildren (daughters of her first husband, Spencer Riley). Found an obit that said he was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon. Called the cemetery, and the lady on the phone knew all about it. Spencer, first wife, and two infant twin daughters were buried in unmarked graves. She remembered someone else had inquired about it recently. Left my phone numbers. Then, on Monday got a call from a man whose wife's family owned the plot next to Spencer's, and they had been trying to determine ownership so they could buy the unused half (the plot has 10 gravesites) for his wife and himself to be buried next to her family. One of Spencer's daughters, Sarah Jane, married Nancy AE's brother, Thomas Jefferson Coxwell. Wouldn't it be funny if we found descendants and they didn't want to sell! Actually, it would take a court petition to settle this, since how could you possibly locate all living descendants and get 50% to sign off? Hello researchers, I know that several of you Blankenship kin also have ties to Finks. I received this email, and thought that many of you could help Bruce Fink. I know my info is not 100% correct, and so I thought together we could get as accurate as possible. He wrote (in a nutshell)... My name is Bruce Colburn Fink. I am a grandson of Jennie C. Blankenship (b. 17 April 1867) and George W. Fink (b. June 1865), who lived in Giles County, VA on Wolfe Creek. Their children included Acie, Elmer, Lawrence, Clarence, Andrew, and my father, Stokes Herbert Fink, Sr. I will be happy to transmit to you all of the information I have, which traces my grandfather George W. Fink to his German ancestors to 1793. Meanwhile, I did notice that you may differ with me about the names of both George and Jennie Fink. I have records from their family bible that I have used and have reason to believe that my information is more accurate than some other that I have seen. Would you please contact me at an early opportunity? Thank you. Bruce Colburn Fink FINKBC@aol.com >My reply (in a nutshell) was: I will be glad to give you all the information I have about the FINK family members I have listed in my BLANKENSHIP list. I am not a Fink descendant myself. The Finks I listed were married to siblings of my Blankenship ancestors. 3 Fink siblings: George M Fink, Margaret Fink**, and William J Fink, all children of Valentine Fink and Nancy White, all married Blankenship siblings, children of William Charlton & Parthena Blankenship. (are you confused yet just from that thought? Good grief!) ** to add to the mix: Margaret Fink married (1st) Hiram Blankenship. Hiram died living her a widow, years later she married Noah Blankenship - Hiram's brother (yes, another sibling!!), he was a widower. I have that Valentine Fink and Nancy White were married April 5, 1855 in Pulaski County, VA. I also have listed that Valentine's parents were Peter & Pheobe Fink.
