    3. Janet, Just to let you know that there is a Cindarilla (slightly different spelling) married to a Blankenship in KY listed on the census. I've seen it several times while researching my line of Blankenship's. I never print it out because it isn't part of mine, yet. Can't tell you the year because I look at so many tapes. When I am back at the library if I run acrossed it again I can pull it for you if you want. I can't help but think at some point I am going to tie into this line since the names I have are also William and James Thomas. Sue B. 3. Just go to www.rootsweb.com, then to US States/Counties. Or to www.cyndislist.com Now, let's all back up our files tonight!! I use a desk top and a lap top. The desktop is my working file. When I backup my genealogy program (PAF 2.31, it takes 6 1.44 disks), I then restore my laptop with the backup file. As I remove disk #1 from the desk top and insert disk #2, I insert disk #1 in the laptop to restore. It's not a bad idea to have TWO sets of backup disks, to use on alternate backup days. Wills: Joseph Blankenship of Parish of Dale. Written 30 Apr 1782, proven Oct 1787. Wife, Mary. Son, John. 10 persons mentioned to divide estate after Mary's death: among which was Elizabeth Garland.

My Edmund Blankenship was b abt 1822 Ky or Va, but I believe Ky, lived in Hardin Co, Ky most of his life. I have never found his parents but he lived near a Wm Blankenship and wife, Cindarilla in Hardin Co in 1860 census. Wm was listed in census as born 1765 Va but I would plus or minus that by 20 years as the penmanship was poor. Edmund and his family and a James Blankenship and his family lived near each other. This William claimed to be 113 in 1878 and was not in the 1880 census. (1765). In a county SW of Hardin, as in Russell Co and nearby there were many Blankenships, one being Hudson Blankenship. The day I recevied the e-mail about Lodowick's Isam, I changed it and added a note to myself that Mike said to change it. Sue

    1. RE: [BLANKENSHIP] Edmund Blankenship & Edmund Hudson
    2. Hi researchers, I am sending this to the post just to show the connection between Edmund Blankenship in Campbell Co. and Edmund Hudson in Bedford Co. I am not the best at figuring out the counties and what counties was formed from which counties. That is too much like history 101 for me. hehehe. This one I do know and do not have to go look up. Campbell Co., Liberty, and Bedford Co., were all the same place. East of Roanoke City today and West of Lynchburg. I think this Edmund Hudson may have been the name sake for the Edmund Blankenship we were looking for before. Not so much for the Hudson name Edmund but for the marriage of Rebecca W.4 Hudson, born Bet. 1811 - 1812 in Bedford Co., Va; died 05 June 1892 in Floyd Co., Va. She married Solomon Kennett; born Abt. 1798 in Bedford Co., Va; died 01 August 1860 in Floyd Co., Va. I know from doing my line of Blankenship's that two Kennett brothers married two Blankenship girls. So for that reason alone, I would do more research on this line to find out the connection between the Kennett's, Hudson's, and the Blankenship's The two Blankenship girls that married Kennett's were: Ralph1, Ralph2, William3 Blankenship and Elizabeth Lnu, Unity4, and Milly4 Unity Blankenship daughter of William and Elizabeth married John Kennett Milly Blankenship daughter of William and Elizabeth married Peter Kennett Now for the connection Milly Blankenship and Peter Kennett had a son Solomon Kennett; born Abt. 1798 in Bedford Co., Va; died 01 August 1860 in Floyd Co., Va. that married Rebecca W Hudson. Edmund Hudson and Rebecca W were brother and sister. (Bear with me here I have to type these out for them to make sense to me) That would make Milly Blankenship Kennett (daughter of William and Elizabeth) be grandmother to the children of Rebecca W Hudson and Solomon Kennett. The Kennett children from this marriage would have a Hudson mother and a Blankenship grandmother. I have totally lost my train of thought on this line. I am sending it now and with add more if I come up with anything else. Descendants of Joshua Hudson Generation No. 1 1. Joshua1 Hudson was born Abt. 1730. Child of Joshua Hudson is: + 2 i. Robert2 Hudson, born Abt. 1759 in Virginia; died Abt. 1792 in Amherst Co., Va.. Generation No. 2 2. Robert2 Hudson (Joshua1) was born Abt. 1759 in Virginia, and died Abt. 1792 in Amherst Co., Va.. He married Lucy Gillespie 25 October 1779 in Amherst Co., Va. She was born Abt. 1763 in Virginia. Child of Robert Hudson and Lucy Gillespie is: + 3 i. Edmund3 Hudson, born Bet. 1784 - 1785 in Amherst Co., Va; died Abt. 1846 in Bedford Co., Va. Generation No. 3 3. Edmund3 Hudson (Robert2, Joshua1) was born Bet. 1784 - 1785 in Amherst Co., Va, and died Abt. 1846 in Bedford Co., Va. He married Susannah Bolling 21 January 1804 in Amherst Co., Va. Child of Edmund Hudson and Susannah Bolling is: 4 i. Rebecca W.4 Hudson, born Bet. 1811 - 1812 in Bedford Co., Va; died 05 June 1892 in Floyd Co., Va. She married Solomon Kennett; born Abt. 1798 in Bedford Co., Va; died 01 August 1860 in Floyd Co., Va.
