Hi Mike, Was wondering if you know anything about a Gilbert Blankenship b. 1856-60 who was married to a Isabell House. They were my grandparents. They were married in Dover Arkansa in 1895. Janet, Just to let you know that there is a Cindarilla (slightly different spelling) married to a Blankenship in KY listed on the census. I've seen it several times while researching my line of Blankenship's. I never print it out because it isn't part of mine, yet. Can't tell you the year because I look at so many tapes. When I backup my genealogy program (PAF 2.31, it takes 6 1.44 disks), I then restore my laptop with the backup file. As I remove disk #1 from the desk top and insert disk #2, I insert disk #1 in the laptop to restore. It's not a bad idea to have TWO sets of backup disks, to use on alternate backup days. Machen, witn. p. 105 McKinny, Jordan & Elizabeth Blankenship, 9 Dec 1810; Darnel Glover, bm; Jno. C. Joohnson, witn. There are no Blankenships in the index of Bute County, NC Minutes of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions 1767-1779. Bute Co. was discontinued in 1779 and divided into Franklin and Warren Counties. There are no Blankenships in the indices of: Abstracts of Wills, Warren County, NC 1779-1844, Volume I, by David B. Hi researchers, I am sending this to the post just to show the connection between Edmund Blankenship in Campbell Co. and Edmund Hudson in Bedford Co. I am not the best at figuring out the counties and what counties was formed from which counties. That is too much like history 101 for me. hehehe. This one I do know and do not have to go look up. Campbell Co., Liberty, and Bedford Co., were all the same place. East of Roanoke City today and West of Lynchburg. I think this Edmund Hudson may have been the name sake for the Edmund Blankenship we were looking for before. Not so much for the Hudson name Edmund but for the marriage of Rebecca W.4 Hudson, born Bet. 1811 - 1812 in Bedford Co., Va; died 05 June 1892 in Floyd Co., Va. I know from doing my line of Blankenship's that two Kennett brothers married two Blankenship girls. So for that reason alone, I would do more research on this line to find out the connection between the Kennett's, Hudson's, and the Blankenship's The two Blankenship girls that married Kennett's were: Ralph1, Ralph2, William3 Blankenship and Elizabeth Lnu, Unity4, and Milly4 Unity Blankenship daughter of William and Elizabeth married John Kennett Milly Blankenship daughter of William and Elizabeth married Peter Kennett Now for the connection Milly Blankenship and Peter Kennett had a son Solomon Kennett; born Abt. 1798 in Bedford Co., Va; died 01 August 1860 in Floyd Co., Va. that married Rebecca W Hudson. Edmund Hudson and Rebecca W were brother and sister. (Bear with me here I have to type these out for them to make sense to me) That would make Milly Blankenship Kennett (daughter of William and Elizabeth) be grandmother to the children of Rebecca W Hudson and Solomon Kennett. The Kennett children from this marriage would have a Hudson mother and a Blankenship grandmother. I have totally lost my train of thought on this line.
