Turns out this Katherine Banks is one of my direct female ancestors, my mother's, mother's, mother, etc., When I went to world connect to see what there was on her a guy named Dave had her descendants down to my grand father via the Blankenship line that Mike and I share, Noah Blankenship, he had Noah's wife as Nancy French, have we decided that that is her correct name? Thanks for writing. Sandy in Florida Maybe I will catch up with my mail when I retire, in 2010, <grin>

Does anyone show where a Elizabeth Crockett marrys a Asa Boswell Blankenship and has a daugther Elizabeth b: bef : 1790. And then marrys a George Trailer and they have a son Robert E. Trailer b; 1800-1805. And he has a figth with his family and changes his name to ASA B. BLANKENSHIP 11. He married Sarah Martindale abt: 1820 VA?. She was born in Patrick co va. So I guess that Asa was around that area. DEB
The below was posted on another list - and Urma who posted it, graciously permitted me to share with other lists. Kentuck Death Records: History of death records before 1911 The Government of the Commonwealth of Kentucky kept no deaths prior to 1852. The first vital statistics law passed by the Kentucky General Assembly in January 1852, required the Auditor's Office assessors of the tax to record deaths each year as they assessed property for the tax. The Auditor's Office never did the job well. This vital statistics law was repealed in 1862. The original lists and certificates of deaths which survive are in the State Archives. They are arranged by county and are for the years 1852-1862. Between 1862 and 1911, when the present Office of Vital Statistics was established, several attempts were made to again require the recording of deaths at the state government level. Some records for 1874-1879 survive as a result of a second vital statistics law. A few scattered records exist for the years 1891-1910. These records, arranged by county and date, are also in the State Archives. Four Kentucky cities (Covington, Lexington, Louisville, and Newport) maintained birth and death registers as well, from the late 1890s until 1911. For information on how to request these records, see the BIRTH AND DEATH RECORDS REQUEST FORM. Kentucky's Vital Statistics Information (aol users - click underline) http://www.kdla.state.ky.us/arch/vitastat.htm (other - copy & paste) Genealogical Reference Correspondence Policy http://www.kdla.state.ky.us/arch/corpolic.htm Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives http://www.kdla.state.ky.us

Essentially, an error message. The link to the "About Us" page was broken, resulting in an error message page.
