    1. Re: [BLANKENSHIP] AR Blankenships - Kaye
    2. Bernice Moore Knowles
    3. Hi Kaye I am learning more and more everyday about my Blankenships in Arkansas and it seems that most all them migrated to the Missouri and Arkansas areas circa 1850s......in a wagon train that included many of the families from the northeastern counties of Tennessee (Henderson Co.) and this wagon train included my Derryberry and Blankenship families. It seems that it must have been a large group of settlers and as it traveled many of them dropped off in parts of Missouri (Miller, Dallas, Laclede Cos) and then as they entered into Arkansas.....they settled in Sharp, Independence, Izard Cos. Give me some of your names and I'll look into my database for those in Craighead Co. Never know, might have something on them. We might even be cousins, too! LOL Never know...... 3. Hi Tammy I do a great deal of research in Izard Co., Arkansas and the neighboring counties. Once in Arkansas, that is the area that most of my ancestors settled in during the 1800s. I have a little bit of data on James Wren, but am sure that I can find more for you. His wife's name was Elizabeth Hightower. The only child as of yet that I had listed for them was a Charity Wren and she married into the Byler family. If you need that data, I would be glad to send it to you privately......as it has nothing to do with the Blankenships......and am sure that it would bor everyone! LOL I don't have anything on the Duers. And it is Duer, not Due/Dew.....right? The Due/Dew surname I am familiar with. Let me hear from you. In that time, although it is a very informative List, I never connected to anyone with my Blankenship line. Guess what? The first post that I see is this one regarding Jerusha Blankenship. Willa, I can help you with this line, as it directly connects to my own. Jerusha was my grandmother's cousin. 3. Same place, just check Texas Census Project. Not all are posted, but if it lists a name or transcriber, click on it. Also, search Ancestry.com type in just the last name....then Census listings then check every one....you never know. 2. My Blankenships, so far, are in TX, I have my grandmother's death certificate and my Dad's delayed birth certificate and his death certificate. This is what I have learned from it. Grandmother's name was Jarusha Anise Blankenship. She is listed as white. She was known as Jerusie and in one paper clipping as Emma. She was born 11-24-1875, somewhere in AR. Her dad is listed as Eliza (maybe it should be Elijah). He was born in TN. He married a ???Snow. Jarusha Blankenship married Adolphus Andrew (or Anders) Loven 11-6-1895 No idea where. Adolphus was born 3-4-1873 in TN. Jarusha and Adophus's first child (my dad) was born in Red River County, Clarksville, TX. Dad was born 9-1-1896 as Adolphard Chester Loven. Later he went by A. Dolphard Chester or ADC Loven. Family and friends knew him as Chester. Second child was Vera Nely (later, Wiley) born 9-8-1898 Don't know where she was born. The 1900 census shows Jershie (Blankenship), Adophus, and 2 children ages 2 and 4. Vera and Chester. They had 8 children in all. No information on where they were born. One child, David Harrson (maybe Harrison) Loven died 8-10-1921, A relative has said he may have died when they were near Hamlin, TX. Adolphus died 12-8-1914. Don't know where. Grandma Jerusie lived many years in Breckenridge, TX. She died there 8-5-1942 and is buried in the Hill Cemetery there. Would love to know were she married and where she was born. Would love to know about her parents. Names, dates and places. Then, of course I'd like to be able to go generations back from there. Hard to get started. Appreciate any help. Willa R. (Loven) Davis Crabtree, OR.

    3. Hi, to all Blankenship descendents, we have set up the "Blankenship Family of America" Website on MyFamily.Com. So far there are 4 of us that have been posting statistical info, photos and other Blankenship info. We will continue to do so. We are inviting any of you that would like to join us to contact us; Carrie Bias Hoffert hoffert@mindspring.com or Crystal Boggs cboggs@ncweb.com Let us know you want to join the Blankenship site and we will send the invitation to you. It is a password protected site, so you can post anything reasonable there to share with other Blankenship family members. You can post or build your personal family tree on the site and not have to worry that everything in it becomes general public knowledge. You can share photos, insights, family stories, lineage theories, join forces with others with the shared lineage, generally use the site in conjunction with this mail list for exchanging info and building a repository of info. Unlike most sites, every member can post information, so it is great for this purpose, we have 75MB of Memory, so the capacity is adequate as well. I belong to a number of these surname lists and I have to tell you that I have yet to see any other with the dialogue going back and forth that exists in the Blankenship List. So I thought that we all could use a family site as a natural extension of exchanging and storing information. Let either Crystal or me know if you are interested, we have responded and forwarded invitations to those of you that responded to the initial query about interest in creating such a site. BARBARA HASTINGS, the email address we had for you came back invalid when we tried to send your invitation, so please contact me again. Thanx, Carrie
