Looking for information on Naoma Louise Blankenship, my g-g-grandmother. She married Willis Day on 16 Jan 1836 in Lawrence, Ohio. They had 11 children and moved from Ohio to Kansas prior to 1860. I have the various censes they are listed on but no information on her and her family. I would appreciate any information anyone might have. Bud Powell

Found this while researching my line. Thought you might like to read it. A letter written 1968 by Roy W. Blankenship: The following list is my grandparents and their children: Major McDonald Blankenship, born Missouri Esther Elizabeth Baggett, probably born in Tennessee. their children: Joseph Warren, Lewis Shelby, John Harvey, Henry Abraham, William Calvin, George Lemuel, (my father), Major McDonald (could have been named James) and Margaret (only one living at this time). Hope this gives you some new info. D.H.
That has to be her. The dates match. Thank you so much. Willa
Hi Sue, that is what I am into now....ugh. Online I have the Surnames seperate, I should have done mine that way too. But when you export, your program should ask you what names, what info, etc. that you want to send. Mine does, but took a while to figure out. ha Try the descendent report first, and see what it does.....lots of luck TT ----- Original Message ----- From: Just Ducky <jstducky@erols.com> To: <BLANKENSHIP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 26, 2000 6:53 PM Subject: Re: [BLANKENSHIP] RE: BLANKENSHIP-D Digest V00 #386 > I have a BLANKENSHIP site set up for my own direct family and would love to > be able to connect to the rest of you or anyone else at this rate. Thanks Bernie, I appreciate that info. Yes, it is Duer. William Duer married Martha Wren in 1840. I would kill to get a copy of that marriage document! I emailed the site director(Izard Co.) and it was returned undeliverable. On the 1850 Census they are William 37 born Pa. and Martha 27 KY, Charlotte,James, Shadrack and William Jr. James stayed in Ark. and the rest went to Mo. William SR. bought land in 1861, and Martha has 4 parcels, James has 2. Martha filed for Williams' pension in Mo. and he bought land there in 1870. The rest I know about Shad, he is my husbands' gggrandfather, he had land all the way to CA! ha That is where my father in law is now. I knew the Hightower connection, but need to know William Sr. Father in Pa. for sure. I think it is William Hollingshead Duer & Charlotte Anderson, but need to confirm. There are tons of Anderson's in Mo. at that time also, plus some Duers from Ohio. Haven't connected them all up yet. The William Duer was a Congressman in that period, and James Wren, Martha's dad, was the big Judge in Izard Co. There is loads to read in bio's on the Duers, because they were famous in Washington, but have not been able to tie in. I saw a land listing for Lewis Blankenship in Ark. too. Probably that Louis that that other woman was looking for. My Lewis J. Blankenship stayed in VA. Willa Haven't forgotten you, just waiting on a confirmation on one name, before I post your line to the List. Will be later tonight, hopefully. Bernie
Tammy Which site director were you trying to reach for Izard Co.? Her name? The Lewis Blankenship that you saw listed in land records in that county was my gggrandfather, Lewis Blankenship (1808-1880). Tell me about your Lewis Blankenship, will you? So, which ancestors of yours migrated to Missouri and where there? It was the Wren children and/or James Wren both? I can put you in touch with a few Wren researchers that research the same line as you......but have you considered subscribing to the Izard Co. List? Trust me, you would not regret it......I have learned so much on that List and have been an active member for several years now. It is a heavy traffic List, though and wanted you to know that! LOL Would you email me privately about your Wren connection and it descends through Shad, James Wren's son, is that right? I'll send you what I have on the family privately, too and see if what little that I have helps at all. But, wish you would subscribe to the Izard Co. List (ARIZARD-L)......as I have already mentioned your connection on a post and have had many people reply already. But, enough of that......tell me about your Blankenships. I'd like to see which of the other Lewis' that you descend from. Reply to Jerusha Blankenship.. In 1880 Izard Co.Ar in the Newburg Township I found her .Daughter of Elijah 42 born in Ark and Sarah 39 Born in Ark. others in the house were.Poline 11 yrs-Mary 8 yrs-Elijah 7 yrs.-Jerusha 5 yrs-Altha 1 yr. all born in Ark.
Major MacDonald Blankenship married Ester E Baggett, maybe in Mo.They had children in ARK.Joseph 1872,Louis,Henry,John,Thomas,George Lemuel,Mac Jr,and a daughter Margaret.Mom and Dad died pretty younge(1895).Joseph married Anna Mattie Cook.and moved to Carthage Mo,Louis was kilkled in Ceterville Mo in 1911.These boys either went into the military or wound up in Mo working in the mines.Major (Mac) had a brother Granville that also settled in Arkansas.NJ
Bernie,My Missouri BANKENSHIP'S were in Andrew Co Mo in the 1840s.Kentuchy before that. Some of the kids went on to Washington ?Benton Co Arkansas and some went to Doniphan Kansas.A few that were born in Springdale Arkansas returned to nissouri and lived in the Newton and Jasper Co areas. These boys were born in the 1870s,so they moved back to Mo at the turn of the century.NJ
Bernice, so glad to hear from you. I'd love to have any information you can send me. I've already sent everything I have except I left out that the 1900 census showed them in Hill Co., Tx. Willa
You are right, I did get a lead on Jerusha's birthday. Had not noticed. Neat. Willa
Dorothy - Do you have the names of other children of Joseph? Where did he live? Nolene
I am also interested in the Blankenship web site. My Blankenships are from MO >ARK>TX>OK>CA. Please send me a password.
> Subject: Joseph Blankenship, father of Elizabeth-Yancey County,NC > > Some months back I was given the information that Joseph Blankenship was the father of the Elizabeth Blankenship(b.1763) who married Humphrey Garland. Elizabeth and Humphrey had a daughter Sara. There were also other members of the Blankenship family living in the area of Red Hill Township, Harrell Township, Buladean, and Bakersville,NC. I wonder if the westward movement had anything to do with the Indian Removal or the opening up of Oklahoma Territory. Several of the Blankenship family were arrested/tried in Indian Territory (records on NAIL). I also wonder about the relationship of the Blankenship individual on the Dawes Choctaw Roll. Dorothy
