    3. I Have some questions Re Ralph Blankenship Sr born abt 1640 (or before 1640) in England. If Ralph Blankenship Sr. arrived in America in July of 1640 as stated by many (I have not seen any source info for this statement.) 1. But if he did arrive at that time, then how could he have been born in 1640-42 in England? It is illogical to assume that he came to America as an infant. 2. Could he have actually been the Ralph Blenkisopp born about 1615 in Northumberland, England, that would have made him abt 25 when he arrived in America. 3. Is there source info for the birth of abt 1615 for a Ralph Blenkinsopp? ________ 4. Where does the information that Ralph Sr Married a Martha Clay come from? 5. Is there source info for her maiden name and when & where they were married? _________ 6. When Ralph Sr. Died did he leave a will? 7. Were his children named in the will? __________________________________________________________ As pertains to Ralph Jr born abt. 1660? ; Is there any information as to the maiden name of his wife (also a Martha) I have seen that many persons have her listed as a Stanley....this I am sure is a result of her 2nd marriage to Edward Stanley after Ralph Jr. died. (for the Martha (? ) Blankenship & Edward Stanley marriage I have the source info) So my questions about this couple are; 1. Is 1660 an accurate estimate of Ralph Jr's birth and is there any source info? 2. What is Martha's Maiden name? I have seen a few times a Martha Hudson as his wife, do any of the list members have any info regarding this possibility? 3. Is their a source available for their marriage? These are the points I see most often, and wondered if anyone has any source info, or direction of research, for any of the above? Thanks for any assistance or direction regarding any of the above points. Carrie Bias Hoffert

I have never seen Richard listed with a wife in any court records but Gayle has written that his wife Elizabeth was a witness in a Goochland court record in 1835. I don't have that record but I wish I did! And, yes, we do not know the last names of Peter's wives. Thank goodness you're clarifying the faulty records which are floating around the internet. Good girl!!! Mike >> Hi Mike, Thanks for answering my e-mail and setting me straight with that information. I try to watch all the posting and try to read them all but this information I could not let go as was. I have learned a lot from watching you, Gayle, Betty, Bill and the other big wheels (lol :) ) on the Blankenship posting board. I know that you, Gayle and others have worked hard to get the family tree this far along. I just do not like to see all of that work going up in smoke so to speak. Here I want to add, every time I post anything to the board that is not just right one of the big wheels will set me straight in a few minutes. I love all of you for that and I feel that is the way things should be. If you have the information and I post it wrong then set me straight. That is the only way we will ever get any where with the line back pass Ralph The Immigrant Blankinship. If we are going to build a strong family tree we need to get the foundation as strong as possible and that is with all the RIGHT information. I have seen all of that other BOGUS information flowing around the Internet and I shiver and shake every time I read it. First off no one has proof of any of it and second it just stops the people like me and you from looking for the right information. I look and see Ann Belched and think that was her last name when in fact we do not know her last name. This is one of the name I have been working on for a while now. I am trying hard to come up with a last name for Ann and Chicly. Believe me if I do find their last names I will let the post know, with proof of the information. I have spend hours and hours here in front of my computer and hours and hours at the Virginia Room at my local library looking up dates and facts to see if the information is correct or not. I have put too much time into the Blankenship Family Tree now to be adding Bogus information. All of the information I post to the posting board should back-up what is in the Blankenship Books, for the most part any way. Some of the information I post is straight off the interner and had not been proven, for this information I tell everybody Please use it as a first step in you own research. Like the paper I posted the other day about Barr-Blankenship undertakers, in MO. That will help the people that are researching in MO to look may at court records, town hall records, maybe business records to see which Blankenship that was. Again this information was posted only as a first set in the research of the Blankenship's in MO. I am not researching that line of the family and I will not research that name any farther. If the others are willing to do a website then I will have to applaud them but PLEASE, PLEASE get the information correct on it. I do not want my name posted with any information on the new website, until all the information there is correct and proven. Thanks, Sue B. Altice

    3. I for one have found errors in Jane Elizabeth Blankenship, daughter of Shorten on most of your websites.............Elias Dye (listed as her spouse) was married to a JENNIE ELIZABETH BLANKENSHIP, daughter of ELIJAH BLANKENSHIP. I know this first hand, as they were my great grandparents.......also, the children listed are in fact Jennie and Elias' and some of the birth dates are inaccurate......I strongly urge you to check you data on your various Blankenship websites and remove Elias Dye and children if you have them attached to JANE Elizabeth Blankenship. I can forward you online census information if you question the fact. Daniel Dewey Dye, their younger son, was my grandfather. Just trying to be helpful.
