Mrs Lady, Do you have anything on Elam Blankenship married to an Elizabeth? They could have been in North Carolina or Virginia. Thanks Dorothy H.
Dona, Thanks for the help. I followed your instructions and it didn't work. The apply button doesn't work after you unchecked "Always send URLs as UTF-8." Strange computer. Never does the same thing as anyone else's does. When I finally get it fixed everyone around the world will hear me yelling with joy. Dorothy H.
Dianne, So far I'm still off line. Before I start messing with anything further, I want to get my families files copied on to floppies disks. Also need to get them printed out and in folders to send to my family. Don't want to loose all my hard work cause of AOL. Thanks for everybodies help on the list. It's great to know there is kind helping people out there. Must be the Blankenship blood running in our veins. LOL. Dorothy H.
Dear Dorothy Fortunately we had no problems with getting on the web so far. I read about your hard time. Hopefully everything is OK now. Dianne
Kay would love to help but my computer is having problems. I'm sure you will get plenty of offers. You have a bunch of reliable and great people on the list who will help you in your time of need. So relax and get yourself ready for the surgery. God Bless and get well soon. Dorothy H.
Sorry my message was suppose to go to Nolene. Sorry Dianne.
Dianne, Did you have problems getting on the web? What did you do when you went to keyword "upgrade?" Still trying to get my computer back on line. Have 12 pages from AOL to try to fix it. Hasn't helped yet. I use windows 98. And thanks to every whose been helping me. Thanks Dorothy H.
Dear Walkers and Blankenships, I am having to have a major back surgery (disc fusion - lumar) on January 25. I am looking for a person on each list to take over managing the list - I will still be around but won't be very active - I expect I will need you from about January 23 and for a period of about 4 weeks. If you are interested, please email me offlist. In the meantime, here is what I will be working on: WALKER LIST - I will be taking all the William roll call information and inputting to a chart. These will hopefully be up on a webpage for viewing soon. If you haven't already posted your Williams, please do so. Suggestions for the next name to be done? I'm thinking Edward ... BLANKENSHIP - I will be comparing all the Ralph 1 generation reports and posting the results. If you haven't already posted this generation as you have it, please do so. Once I have posted the First Generation, we will beging on Ralph's children ... Thanks for everyone's patience - I'm sorry I've been away so much. I do keep an eye on things and I will continue to do so, but your help and cooperation is much appreciated. Kay
I'm interested in any BYRD / WHITE connections you might come across. I'm still looking for any info on Jenny WHITE and William Lafayette BLANKENSHIP, one of her siblings was named Byrd or Bird, I suspect that this is a family name. As to Nancy, wife of Ferguson Perdue, I have never heard that her maiden name was Blankenship. By this, I don't mean that it definitely was not Blankenship. Nancy was born 1822 (census) & lived with Levi Comer, her son-in-law, in 1900 Mercer Co. WV. They lived at Concord Church, WV. Ferguson & Nancy Perdue had 11 children, one of which was Susannah J.Perdue b. 1848, m. 9-3-1872 Mercer Co. WV, Stephen J. Bird, s/o Thomas & M. A. Bird of Franklin Co. VA. If this Nancy turns out to be a Blankenship, she will surely be kin to my husband, whose Blankenships are all over Mercer Co. WV.
