Jackie: The only other information on Green B. is that it is believed this was another name for Jerome. I want to do some more checking on this when I can get to the library and see the census films. He was listed in 1850but not 1860. What information do you have on the Green you mentioned? Nolene
Pat: According to some notes in my file, it is believed that Green B. was another name for Jerome B.W. He also had he nickname "Jack". Haven't verified this but he was the same age as Jerome and did not appear in the 1860 census - only the 1850. When I can get to the library, I will look at the census film rather than just the index and see what I can find. Are you related? Nolene
This is a good idea, and I suggest that you run spell check before you copy and paste Thanks for writing, Sandy in Florida ***REPLY TO SandraG627@aol.com*** On Sat, 20 Jan 2001, Jeffery Lensman wrote: > In my experience, you will not be able to automatically pull in any of the > family names and relationship links from the RTF file, so you will have to > type those in by hand. Nolene, you are probably right on the thought that Green B. Blankenship is Jerome Bonapart Washington Blankenship. I went back and checked the date he married and it was in 1852, so he was probably still living at home in 1850. Plus Jerome was born in 1828, making him 22 in 1850. Sorry, I didn't check the dates closer. I also checked the transcribed census for 1860 and Green B. is not listed but Jerome is. I am so glad to finally get this clear in my mind. Thanks for the help, again. Pattie

not really. my great grandmother was over 100 yrs old when she did. semms our way on elders whom do not live off cheese burgers, & other fast foods liked alot longer.
why not take them down to say like a kinko copies and scan them.
Hi Nolene, I thought I would post this comment on Green Blankenship to the list rather than send it personally to you. Here are my thoughts: What are the possibilities that this Green B. Blankenship listed on the 1850 White Co. census as age 22 was actually Belgary who is not on the 1850 census since we assumed he died before the census was done? I know from Mrs. Passon report that she listed Belgary as being born ca 1842 and died before 1850 but do you know where she got this information? I noticed that she did not list Green B. has a child of Rowland and Jennetta's even though he was on the census. So couldn't Green B. be Green Belgary Blankenship and he was actually alive in 1850 . Very interested in your thoughts on this. Pattie

You might ask the person who sent you the .rtf file to send you the information in gedcom format. Then you could easily import it into your database. Dear List, PAM BLANKENSHIP will be keeping an eye on the list for me while I am in hospital and for the first few weeks of my recuperation. I will have laptop access but don't expect to be online until probably after the 1st of February. Thank you all for your prayers and I'll see you soon!!! Kay
In my experience, you will not be able to automatically pull in any of the family names and relationship links from the RTF file, so you will have to type those in by hand. However, you don't have to retype all of the other information which you intend to put into the "Notes" field in FTW (like Wills, etc.) All you need to do for this is open the RTF file into Word or another Windows word processing program. Using your mouse, select all of the text you want to copy and then hit Ctrl-C (this is the Windows copy command)and then switch over to FTW and open the Notes page for the individual who you want to include the notes for and then hit Ctrl-V (this is the Windows paste function). All of the notes you just copied should now appear in the notes page in FTW. I hope this helps some! -----Original Message----- From: David South [mailto:dsouth@epix.net] Sent: Saturday, January 20, 2001 4:03 AM To: BLANKENSHIP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [BLANKENSHIP] RE:{BLANKENSHIP] Family Tree Maker 7.5 help please Sue, I am not aware of anyway FTW can import a .rtf file. My Williams tomb stone reads aged 105 years. So maybe its not impossilbe that this line of blankenships died of very old age.The only problen is Grandsons of these died at very young ages.LOL
Hi; Do you have anymore information on Green B. BLANKENSHIP, I have one that I think married Malinda "Millie" BLANKENSHIP, had a son George P. BLANKENSHIP of Mercer Co., WV, any help will be appreciated. Thank Jackie
Hi all researchers, This is what I just found out on my John Jago Blankenship that married Christina Plymale. I had the chance to look at the Bible that was handed down to my father, Jessie Malcolm Blankenship, by his mother Susie M. Divers Blankenship. Form Susie I understand from my mother that Flora Frances gave it to Susie and Jessie Moses Blankenship. Christina must have given it to her daughter Flora Frances. There is not much information in the Bible, just that the Bible did belong to Christina P. Blankenship, this is on the first few pages, where that is a place for a name. Where it says this Bible belongs to _____________. The writing is so beautiful, it is old English writing but I can read every word of it. It have the date that Christina and John Jago were married and a list of their children. The birthdays of Chirstina and John. The Bible is well tatter and torn so from this I would say that it was used. Some of the corners of the pages are turned down, as to mark a special verse. So with this information and the FACT that I have seen this Bible and can verify the information from copies I have of the Bible pages, I am now changing my information to read as you see below. THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN ME. I can and will send a copy of these pages to anyone that wants them. (Mike here is your chance to raise you hand. LOL) This is the way I am adding it to my family tree: 1850 census show John Jago being born in 1796, 21 years before the date that Sue Blankenship Altice took from Christina Plymale Blankenship's Bible that was believed to have been written by her. The date in her Bible says 26 September 1817, and that is the date I am going to use in my research. I have seen this Bible.
Nolene -- I have also seen "Green B. Blankenship" as a son of Rowland Blankenship. Do you know where he might come into this family - if at all? Maybe "Greene" is a nickname for one of the other siblings? Pat At 1/20/2001 12:27 AM, you wrote: >Additions to Part l: Edmund had second marriage:to Mary Elizabeth Clark 1879
Diane: Glad you got my postings. The only place I have seen Reuben connected with Rowland is on his marriage license. The clerk apparently inserted the name Reuben on the license however it is signed Rowland. It is listed in marriage books as Reuben because of this I guess. The only way I found it was through an older woman in McMinnville who is related through John Roland and the Passons. She gave me a lot of information and told me Rowland was married to Jane. When I saw the marriage book with Reuben and Jane I sent for a copy of the license and saw how it was signed. Pays to follow up every little clue. If there are any others on the lists I sent you are interested in, let me know. Nolene
Was someone talking about listing William Blankenships?

I noticed you dropped John b, 1727, as a son of Richard. Did you find something to make you change your mind? Also a death date of 1793 makes him about 100 years old when he died. Not impossible because I have another ancestor that was 106, but suspicious.
