In response to Beryl's query on BLANCHARDs in Illinois, I have a few from my wife's line which originated in Peacham, Vermont and most settled in Osceola, Stark County, Illinois in the late 1850s. In 1872 they removed to Creston, Union County, Iowa. The following are all surnamed Blanchard. - Abby S. b: ___ Peacham; d: 21 Apr 1861 in Osceola. - Ebnoch b: 4 Jul 1830 Peacham; d: 11 Mar 1889 in Newark, Kendall, Illinois - Eugene Herman b: abt. 21 Aug 1858 Osceola; d: 18 Aug 1893, Stuart, Guthrie County, Iowa - Florence b: 15 Mar 1864 in Osceola; d: 5 Jan 1964 at Osceola - Ione b: 1860 in Osceola; d: 1948 at Creston - Lewis b: 27 October 1873 at Peacham; d: 3 Sep 1926 at Chicago - Margaret Gay b: 24 Jan 1822 at Peacham; d: 9 Jul 1900 at Moline - Maria b: 1833 at Peacham; d: 1873 (or 1874) at Peru, Illinois - Phineas Varnum b: 25 Jan 1834 at Peacham; d: 10 Apr 1886 at Peacham - Simon b: 24 Jan 1822 at Peacham; d: 28 Sep 1860 at Osceola. There is also a Mindwell Blanchard born in Peacham who is believed by family members to have died "somewhere in Illinois in the Fall of 1883." Sorry, but no Williams in my wife's Illinois Blanchards.
