There was a Jeremiah Blanchard in Wilton, NH in 1790 and 1800, apparently with 3 sons under 16 and 4 daughters in 1790, and with 4 sons in all by 1800, and 2 daughters still at home then. Jeremiah himself was evidently born before 1755, as was his wife, but I would guess not long before 1755. Can anybody tell me who he was? The "History of Wilton, N.H." (pp.318-319) says Jeremiah, b. Andover, Mass., June 1733; d. Weston, Vt., Jan. 27, 1826. He served in the French and Indian war; was at the seige of Fort William Henry, taken prisoner and escaped; also served during the Revolutionary war. He was last taxed in Wilton in 1808, and removed to Weston, Vt. He m. May 17, 1759, Dorothy Smith of Andover (Andover VR also); m. 2d, between 1769 and 1774 Susanna Martin (Andover VR say Aug. --, 1772). The births of his five youngest children are recorded in Wilton. Children: 1. Jeremiah, b. Sept. 17, 1761; served in Revolution. 2. Peter, b. Aug. 12, 1767; removed to Weston, Vt. 3. Eber, b. Jan. 14, 1769. 4. Sarah, b. Nov. 2, 1774. 5.
