Hello Ron. Thomas BLANCHARD, the inventor of the lathe for turning gun stocks, ax-helves, etc., was a cousin of Anna BLANCHARD, wife of Heil HUNT, the daughter of Lemuel Blanchard who married May 29, 1773, Mary Littlefield. LINEAGE:Anna-7, Lemuel-6, Samuel-5, John-4, John-3, Nathaniel-2, Thomas-1 So Thomas would be the son of one of Lemuel's brothers: Samuel, b Nov. 1744; William, b Aug. 31, 1747; Elisha, b Aug. 17, 1752; Joseph, b 1756; or Jonathan, b 1759. In this case, Samuel would be the father then. In the Dictionary of American Biography, Volume II, 1929 edition, some references for this Thomas are: - "Biog. Sketch of Tho. Blanchard and His Inventions" (1878) by Asa H. WATERS - "Boston Evening Transcript", April 18, 1864 I haven't seen these documents. -- Rannie
