There is a Richard Blanchard who appears in Northfield, NH, both in 1790 and 1800. It appears that he and his wife were both born before 1755, and they had a goodly number of children, and maybe even a grandchild living with them by 1800 (but that's just speculation). Does anybody know who he was? It seems quite possible that he was the same Richard who appeared in the Canterbury tax lists in 1770, which would push his birth back before 1750 or so. (Bear in mind that Northfield was set off from Canterbury in 1780.) That still leaves open the question of who he was... John
