Marilyn Labbe at the Killingly History Center (CT?) has been posting obituaries from the Boston Weekly Journal, to the NORTHEAST-ROOTS-L mail list. This appeared today and I just happened to catch it. I will also post it to our GenConnect Obit. Board. Fletch Boston Weekly Journal, Thursday, Dec. 27, 1888 Rev. Silas M. Blanchard, A.M., who died recently at Hudson, NH, was born in Windham, that State, on March 9, 1820. He was graduated from Dartmouth College in 1842, and from Andover Seminary in 1849 and was ordained an evangelist on OCt. 27, 1853. He was acting pastor of the Congregational Church at Chichester, NH five years and was located at Bath two years, at Wentworth two years and at Hudson one year, when he retired from the active duties of the ministry. His class at Dartmouth numbered 85 and his death was the 46th. After graduation he taught in an academy at Georgia four years and at Pembroke in New Hampshire two years. Mr. Blanchard married twice and left a widow and five sons.
