I am desperately trying to trace the ancestry of Alexander Blanchard. I know only that he was born in Washington Co, VT in 1809 and have found only local (Onondaga Co, NY)historical references to him, his wife(Eliza Bellchamber) and children(Harriett, Melissa, Alonzo, George, Alexander Jr, Sarah and John) as a family after he settled in Onondaga Co, NY. He died in 1896 in Onondaga Co, lived in his final years with his daughter Melissa's father Prosper Hamlin(also widowed). His death certificate listed a Rachel Cagler as his mother but not sure how much value I place on this as most all of his immediate family was gone at the time of his death. Unfortunately also, the only Census Reports he would be included on with his parents would be before 1830 and these list only Head of Household. Does anyone have any information on Alexander?
