The 1850 census for Dane County, Town of Dunkirk, shows: Otis BLANCHARD 23 b. NY M.A. 18 b. VT Sarah 60 b. CT Minerva 23 b. NY Henry W. 1 b. WI Sarah 18 b. NY >From this I figure that Minerva was married to Otis's brother. When her husband died, Minerva went to live with his brother for awhile. The 1850 Mortality Index for Wisconsin shows a C.B. BLANCHARD Dane Co. age 27 died Apr Consumption from NY There was a Charles BLANCHARD who owned land in Dane Co just prior to 1850 Henry W. BLANCHARD went on to marry Mary Clara HAAS on Dec 3, 1871.
