Hi Blanchard Rooters! I was looking up something in the 1880 Census for Manistee, Co., MI when I happened to find a Blanchard who gave his birthplace, and that of his parents, as Denmark! How 'bout that! I'm guessing that perhaps he changed his name from something else, but who knows. Anybody out there have any Danish Blanchards on your family tree? Just curious. There were also a couple of Blanchards from New York in the census, and if any of you are looking for lost relatives who might have strayed to West Michigan in the 1880s let me know and I will give particulars.
