    2. Hi, again, Continuing from my previous messages, I also came across the mention of Blanchards in the publication "New England Vital Records from the Exeter, N.H., News-Letter 1853-1858." This is the last installment of these. I hope they have been of help to someone. These included: Destruction of a steamer by fire. -- Thirty or Forty Passengers missing. -- Buffalo, July 17 -- The Steamer Northern Indiana took fire about 11 o'clock this morning, while on her voyage to Toledo, and burned to the water's edge. Thirty or forty passengers are reported lost. The following are among the passengers and crew taken off by the Mississippi: A. Stockbridge, of Hartford; Caroline Turner, of Rome, Maine; E. and J. Giles, of Worcester; Joseph R. Fitz, of Hartford; Joseph Twitchell, of Oldtown, Me.; Eldridge BLANCHARD, of Augusta, Me.; Rev. J.M. Presslin, of Indiana, whose brother was drowned; C.T. Dadman, of West Needham, Mass.; Milo Doty, of Hartford. Capt. Pheatt, commander of the Northern Indiana, was not on board of her, being sick and confined to his room in Buffalo.
