Hello, It's been a while since I've been with you, and I hope everyone has been having a successful hunt. I have been busy researching the Oregon Trail experience and the Mexican War activities of JOSHUA PETTINGILL BLANCHARD (b.1820 VT-d.1884 OR). His wife REBECCA JANE RACE (1828-1921) was from OH. Now I turn to his parents and grandparents (AMOS and ASA, respectively.) AMOS BLANCHARD (b.1791 in MA-d.1836 in Barre,VT) married DOLLY PETTINGILL (1794-1870). ASA BLANCHARD (b1769 in Strubridge, MA-d.1850 in Wildersburg (Barre), VT) married LYDIA NICHOLS (1775-1859). There were an AMOS and an AMOS BLANCHARD listed in the Roster of Vermont Soldiers in the War of !812, but I have not been able to verify that they were "my" Blanchards. Anyone have any suggestions, other than NARA, which doesan't have their records. I would like to correspond with anyone who has connections/info on the Vermont BLANCHARDs. Please respond to my email address, as I have found it necessary to reduce greatly the number of lists I used to belong to. If I get significant response, I will rejoin the group and share what I find. Albert (skipb@nh.ultranet.com)
