The resources provided by this maillist already have essentially confirmed what I had from the sources cited below, for which I am grateful. Perhaps my only revision would be to put quotes around "Joseph". For what it may be worth to other readers, I have outlined briefly where this line connects with one of my main lines (my mother's family). Oh yes, I do have blanks as yet for the ancestry of Ruth Adams, Kendall Nichols, Hannah Simonds, and only a bit on Elizabeth Shattuck. If anyone feels the urge, please share what you know. Stewart Rowe Blanchard Genealogy from first known in America, to Marinda Blanchard who married Lebanon Brown in Keene NH 24 Dec. 1834. Surnames: Adams, Blanchard, Brackett, Brown, Farnsworth, Kinsley, Lepingwell, Nichols, Nutting, Parker, Shattuck, Simonds, Snow, Stone, Wheeler, Whitney, Wright Joseph1 died in Boston Oct. 1637. He was probably born in Normandy, went to England as a child. He m. Ann _______, (probably in England). Ann moved with her children to Salem - was granted land in Marblehead Neck; admitted to church membership in Salem 30 July 1643. Her death 24 June 1662 is recorded at both Chelmsford and Woburn Source: NEHGR 93: 162ff John2 was the child of Joseph Blanchard and Ann ______. He had resided in Salem, admitted freeman 2 May 1643 (NEHGR 3:192). John B. birthdate unknown but likely ca. 1620; died in Dunstable MA 1693. He marrried (1) Elizabeth Hills, abt 1658; she died 1662. He m.(2) abt. 1663 Hannah (Brackett) Kinsley. Hannah, bapt at Boston 4 Nov 1634, killed by Indians 3 July 1706, was dau. of Richard and Alice Brackett, and the widow of Samuel Kinsley, who died at Billerica 1662. They m prob at Charlestown. John moved to Charlestown (owned a lot in 1658), Chelmsford (ca. 1664; births of later children recorded there) and in 1680 sold their homestead in Chelmsford and moved to Dunstable, where he is listed as a proprietor in 1683 and was chosen a selectman several times. There were two children of Dea. John and Elizabeth and nine of Dea. John and Hannah Blanchard. His widow Hannah, her daughter Elizabeth (Kinsley) Cummings, her son Nathaniel Blanchard with his wife, Lydia Blanchard, and Susannah, a daughter of Nathaniel and Lydia Blanchard, were slain at Dunstable by the Indians, July 3, 1706. D4 Thomas3 was 7th child of John Blanchard and probably the fifth of John and Hannah Kinsley. Thomas Blanchard was b. at Chelmsford "about 1668", d. at Dunstable 9 Mar 1727. He m.(1) at Woburn 13 Feb. 1689, Tabitha Lepingwell, b. 8 May 1661, d. 29 Nov. 1696. He m. (2) at Dunstable 4 Oct. 1698, Ruth Adams, b. at Chelmsford 8 Mar 1673, dau of Peletiah and Ruth (Parker?) Adams. D5 Children: Thomas, 12 Aug. 1699; William, 1701 ; and Ruth, 1 Apr. [p.197] 1703. Savage197ff Pelatiah Adams was b. 6:1:1646 in Concord to Thomas and Mary (Blackmore) Adams. He d. in Chelmsford 29 APR 1725. C6; D5 Lt. Thomas Adams b. 1612 Barton St. David, Somersetshire, England, d. 1688 Chelmsford and Mary Blackmore (m. abt. 1643). No data on her. William4 Blanchard was the youngest child of Thomas Blanchard and Ruth Adams. He was b. at Pepperell 5 Sept. 1713, (family records say 1714), d. New Ipswich NH 17 Feb 1805. William m. Deliverance Parker at Groton 28 Feb 1733. Deliverance Parker b at Groton 28 July 1714, dau of Nathan and Lydia (Nutting) Parker. (See Ancestry of Deliverance Parker) Simeon5 Blanchard was third ch of William Blanchard and Deliverance Parker. He was b at Groton 11 June 1747 and d. at New Ipswich 29 or 22 June 1822. He m. at Pepperell 28 Feb. 1776 Elizabeth Shattuck. Elizabeth Shattuck b at Pepperell 11 June 1751, dau. of John and Elizabeth (Shattuck) Shattuck, d. 9 Apr. 1844 in New Ipswich NH. History of New Ipswich says "he served a few days in the company of Capt. Silas Wright of Stoddard which marched upon one of the Ticonderoga alarms in 1777." Lebanon Brown was descended from Thomas Brown of Sudbury 1637 and Concord 1638, by way of Boaz2, Thomas3, John4, Josiah5 (The last two moved to New Ipswich NH), and Abner6.
