Fletch, Have a very wonderful, and lets hope fruitful trip. Give Fred a big hug for me! I will await your report when you return. -----Original Message----- From: Fletcher Blanchard [SMTP:fab@Klink.Net] Sent: Sunday, May 07, 2000 10:37 AM To: BLANCHARD-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [BLANCHARD] England trip plans On 22 March, I posted a note to the List about a possible trip to England to search for information about the origins of the family of Thomas BLANCHARD (c1590-1654). With the help of several contacts in England, my plans are taking shape. On 19 May, I will meet with Fred Hartley, from Hayes, Middlesex, who has provided much valuable information and guidance in our discussions of the Thomas BLANCHARD family. The next day I will meet Colin Blanshard Withers for our drive to Lincoln and the Annual General Meeting of the BLANC/SHARD Family History Society. I look forward to meeting the Society members and the opportunity to extend greetings from BLANCHARD-L. After a couple of days in the Netherlands with a 'cousin', searching our common Dutch line, I will spend much of the rest of my time at the Hampshire Record Office in Winchester, looking for more BLANCHARDs. Of course, I plan to visit nearby Goodworth Clatford, the earliest known residence of Thomas B. Marshall Blanchard of Wilton, CT, has provided me with a copy of his research of early Blanchard Wills in England and several of our list members have given advice and counsel. I will be checking my e-mail periodically but if any questions arise, I may not be able to respond until I return the end of May.
