Note that Milford was not founded until 1794, so the place Amy was born could have been any one of the towns that contributed to Milford: Amherst, "Mile Slip", or Hollis. There might be a record of her birth in one of those places. It would be worth looking in the town histories for information on Smiths: Samuel Worcester, "History of the town of Hollis" (1879) Daniel Secomb, "History of the town of Amherst" (1883) George Ramsdell & William Colburn, "History of Milford with family registers" (1901).
