There are those of you who have researched this far more than I have, and I am fairly certain that you have concluded that there is no provable connection between the New England Blanchards and the Southern Blanchard. However, in my research I have seen something interesting that many of you probably already know about and have already studied and/or dismissed. I would be interested to hear whether you have researched this possible connection. Here it is: In Massachusetts in 1672 was born Ruth Adams, daughter of Peletiah Adams and his wife Ruth. The daughter Ruth Adams married 4 Oct 1698 to Thomas Blanchard. In North Carolina in 1812 is the will of Palatiah Blanchard. Peletiah/Palatiah is a very unusual name. Any thoughts?
